Dear Parents, Two "shortened" weeks are done...next week will be our first full week of classes! They have been weeks of newness, adjustments, excitement, and blessings! God has been very good to both our staff and students during the start of this school year :) We have exciting things to look forward to in the weeks ahead: 1) "Back to School Night" just for parents on Monday, September 12 at 7PM. Meet in the Big Room, get your teen's schedule, and then you will be off to meet their teachers to get a feel for what they will be studying this year! A night you won't want to miss, so plan on joining us! 2) Picture retake day is Wednesday, September 14 from 10AM-12noon. If your student missed Picture Day on August 18, then make sure they are here Wednesday to get photographed for the first time. If your student is truly unhappy with their photo from the first time, they can have them retaken, if and only if, they return the original package of photos! Picture forms are available in the office. 3) "Break Through the Noise" Open House event starting at 7:30PM on Friday, September 23 for middle school families who want to check out WMC ...more details to come! Who could YOU tell about the wonderful opportunity that WMC offers for a Christian education along the lake shore!?!? 4) "Warrior Weekend" is happening on September 23 & 24...this is like "Homecoming in the fall" where sports and the arts are highlighted during all the fun and festivities! Mark your calendars NOW and plan on attending the different sporting events, Sight and Sounds musical program in the Big Room, display of the students' artwork, etc...more details will be coming! 5) Spiritual Emphasis Week will be held September 26-29 focusing on our theme: "Rise Up to Wisdom." Please start praying for this very important annual event for our students and staff under the direction of Pastor Dave Hulings... And finally a little Friday humor and a snippet of wisdom...
~~I was eating my lunch in the teacher's lounge yesterday and picked up a little comic that was on the table. A son, holding a fire extinguisher, and his father are standing by a bucket filled with charred material of some sort. The caption reads, "There was a terrible fire, Dad, but I managed to keep it confined to my report card!" (Hopefully...won't be happening this year at your home ;-) ~~I flipped the comic over only to read some very wise words that addresses the "helicopter" parent syndrome where, with all the best intentions, they want to swoop down on a daily basis and fix all their children's problems! (I only wish I had someone remind me of this when we were in the midst of raising our four teens who have since graduated from WMC!!!) The words read: "It's tempting for us as parents to step in to fix our children's problems. But before we do that, we need to carefully assess the situation. Sometimes the best thing we can do is to let our kids work things out for themselves." Amen.... Have a great weekend with your teens...love 'em to pieces and have them get rested up for a full week coming up!

If you are a junior or a senior and would like to be a Student Ambassador please pick up an interview sheet in Mr. Kempster's office and sign-up for an interview on the sign-up sheets on his office door. Interviews are September 8-15. Your first event for the year is the Break Through the Noise event September 23.
Grade Viewer: Student and Parent usernames and passwords are not setup yet for the Internet Viewer. Programs changes removed the ability to create this in mass. Therefore they have to be set up manually. There are changes to the Internet Viewer this year. The most important one is that Parents can have a separate log in that allows them to access all of their child's grades in one place. So parents, please contact Mr. Krueger (231-799-9644 ext 251) to get this setup or email him at:
