Fall 2010

 

Your Seminar Project will encompass 4 different components that are linked together for one final presentation.  Through this project you should be able to answer the following questions: 

 

  • What do I believe? 
  • What is my purpose in life? 
  • What are my goals and how do I achieve them?
  • What does my future hold? 

 

You will answer these questions by completing the following assignments:

 

  • Personal Statement of Faith and theme verse for 2011
  • Personal Mission Statement and Slogan
  • Short-term and Long-term goal plans
  • Completed EDP and career paper.

 

You will have the next 7 weeks to complete this project. The majority of these elements will be completed in class.  Your project presentation will be given orally on exam day, and you will need to pass each section with a grade higher than 3 in order to pass the class.  Your final presentation can be made in a variety of different ways depending on your preference as a learner.  You may choose one of the following, or, if you have another idea, please see your teacher to get approval.  We want you to be creative with this project.

 

Some options:

 

Read/Write Learners – Write a paper based on your findings and read it orally to your class.

 

Visual Learners – Create a power point presentation to share your findings with the class.

 

Kinesthetic Learners – Create a video project to share your findings with the class.

 

Auditory Learners – Put your presentation to music, or write music to present your project to the class.

Statement of Faith and Theme Verse

No statement of faith was created and no theme verse was chosen.

Either a theme verse or a statement of faith was chosen but not both.

A statement of faith and a theme verse were chosen, but they have little or no explanation or correlation.

A statement of faith and a theme verse were chosen and have some explanation and correlation.

A statement of faith and a theme verse were chosen.  There was a clear explanation for the choice, and they relate well to the student’s life.

Mission Statement & Slogan

Neither a Mission Statement nor a slogan was created.

Either a Mission Statement or a slogan was created but not both.

A Mission Statement with less than 10 lines was created.

A Mission Statement with 10 or more lines was created.  There is a basic relationship between the student and their mission. A slogan was also created.

A Mission Statement with 10 or more lines was created.  There is a clear relationship between the student and their mission. A slogan was also created.

Short & Long Term Goals

Neither a short-term nor a long-term goal chosen.

Either a short-term or a long-term goal was chosen, but not both.

A short-term & long-term goal were chosen, but no action steps were planned or they were unrealistic.

A short-term & a long-term goal were chosen.  Action steps were relatively clear and realistic.

A short-term & a long-term goal were chosen.  Action steps were clear, concise, and realistic.

Completed EDP & Career Paper

EDP & Career Paper were not completed.

Either the EDP or the career paper was completed but not both.

EDP was completed and career paper was completed but did not have the proper elements of research and did not use proper MLA guidelines.

EDP was completed and career paper was completed with most elements of research completed successfully and minimal MLA mistakes.

EDP was completed and career paper was completed with excellent research and all elements of MLA formatting used properly.

Presentation

No presentation was given.

Presentation was not planned out ahead of time and did not cover all 4 of the project topics.

Presentation covered all 4 of the project topics but was not planned out ahead of time.

Presentation was planned out ahead of time and covered all 4 of the project topics.
