The scores were 25-14, 18-25, 25-23 and 25-23.  Leading the attacks were Vanessa Eekhoff with 13 kills, Lauren Merz with 12 and Elyse Ray and Rachel Bruinsma each with 11. Victoria Arangure' set them up with 32 assists. Bruinsma added 4 aces and Ray added 2 along with 3 blocks.  Merz led the defense with 18 digs followed by Eekhoff and Bruinsma with 15 each.

"We seemed to keep Covenant from getting their offense going in the first set," WMC coach Bret Noordhoff said. "In the second, seven service errors late in the game took us out of it.  The third and fourth set were battles with exciting rallies.  It seemed that both teams put all they had into the last two sets.  Seniors Lauren and Victoria wanted to make sure their last regular season game ended with a win and did what it took to make sure that happened."

WMC is hosting a tournament for all five River Valley teams beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday in our gym.
