LADY WARRIORS LOSE CLOSE MATCH TO LEAGUE LEADERS

 

Our Lady Warriors took from first volleyball set from league-leading Tri-Unity Christian, but then dropped the next three by close scores.

WMC took the first set 25-23, but dropped the next three 20-25, 15-25, and 23-25.
Elyse Ray served up 3 aces,  Victoria Arangure' 2 and Vanessa Eekhoff added 1.
Arangure' added 23 assists on 85 attempts with Bonnie Heykoop adding 6 on 10 attempts.
Lauren Merz led the Warriors on attacks with 11 kills.  Rachel Bruinsma, Elyse Ray and Vanessa Eekhoff added 10 each.
Ray also led the blocking with 4 followed by Bruinsma with 3
Defensively, Julie Merz had 21 digs while sister Lauren and Elyse Ray added 18 apiece.

"Overall we played pretty good tonight," WMC coach Bret Noordhoff said. "Some small errors and too many missed serves were the difference in the final results.  Hopefully we can fix those and defeat Covenant Thursday and go into our Conference Tournament on Saturday with even more confidence."
