Lauren Merz 4 aces, 3 blocks, 31 kills, and 34 digs;

WMC started off flat against a very good #2 seed Whitehall, then easily handled the Tigers. We still weren't playing at top form when we split with Ravenna. We then met North Muskegon for the second time this season and we were both ready to play. The first set went back and forth until the last few points. The second game started off the same way until the Norse had 3 serving errors in a row giving us an opening. The Warriors capitalized on it and won the second. The third was the same thing until a couple of called errors took away our momentum. We fell behind and could not recover the points we lost. "We really played with focus in that last match and except for those last couple of points, did not let our opposition control our play. We are hoping for a chance to play them in the districts," WMC coach Bret Noordhoff said.
CROSS COUNTRY HAS GREAT DAY AT GMAA DESPITE MISSING RUNNERS
While the 11th grade Cross Country runners were taking the PSAT Saturday morning, the rest of the team headed to Ravenna to run in the GMAA (Greater Muskegon Area Athletics) meet. "Probably the test takers wished they had run, too, because it was a beautiful morning to be outside and 7 of 9 runners set personal records (another missed by 2 seconds)," coach Dick Brook said.
