GOLF TAKES THIRD OVERALL AT 24-TEAM INVITATIONAL Western Michigan Christian's golf team finished third overall and second in their division Monday among 24 teams competing in NorthPointe Christian's Invitational at the Railside Golf Club in Grand Rapids. Grand Rapids South Christian won the overall championship and took first place in the small school division with a 316. Grand Rapids Christian won the bigger school division with a 319 while WMC shot a 320. Finishing out the top five were Forest Hills Eastern, Greenville and GR Northview, all with scores of 334. WMC's Caleb Johnson shot a 75 on the 72-par course, good for third place overall. Collin Breit had a 76, Justin Baker-83, Alec Breit-86 and Chris Wisen-91.
CORRECTION WMC's freshman Alec Breit shot a 76, good for 7th overall at Saturday's Fremont Invitational held at Briarhill Golf Course.
TODAY'S EVENTS Golf team plays in the Covenant Christian Jamboree at 4 p.m. Boys and girls track travels to Muskegon Heights for a 4 p.m. meet. Boys varsity baseball hosts Tri-Unity Christian at 4:30 p.m. Girls soccer team hosts Freedom Christian at 6:45 p.m.
WEDNESDAY'S EVENTS Golf team participates in the Greater Muskegon Tournament beginning at 9 a.m. at Chase Hammond.
THURSDAY'S EVENTS Girls tennis plays at Coopersville at 4:15 p.m. Boys varsity baseball is at Covenant Christian at 4:30 pm. Girls softball is at Covenant Christian at 4:30 p.m. Junior varsity baseball hosts Covenant Christian at 4:30 p.m. Girls soccer travels to Tri-Unity Christian for a 4:30 p.m. clash.
