Our Mission Statement

“Western Michigan Christian High School’s mission is to educate with excellence, integrate faith with knowledge, equip students to work and serve Christ in their communities.”

School Characteristics

  • Four-year private Christian school
  • Accredited by the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools
  • Annually, more than 90% of our seniors enroll in two- or four-year college programs after graduation
  • Total enrollment for 20010-11: 225 students in grades 9-12: 58 Freshmen, 57 Sophomores, 60 Juniors, 50 Seniors
  • Professional staff: 30
  • 65% have at least one master’s degree and all are certified in their respective areas of teaching
  • Student to teacher ratio is 10:1

 

Curriculum

  • The school year is divided into equal trimesters - three terms of 12 weeks each.
  • Classes meet daily for 63 minutes
  • Vocational classes meet daily in a three-hour block

WMCHS offers 59 subjects on campus, plus numerous courses through the Career Tech Center. Christian Learning Center support is available for students with learning disabilities

 

Extracurricular

WMCHS boasts music programs, 19 athletic teams, drama, chapel, student council, clubs and other activities.
